Artificial Intelligence and It’s Applications in Healthcare and Medical Research – A Survey
Abstract - “Every aspect of learning or any other future of intelligence can be so precisely described that a machine can be made to stimulate it” – The Dartmouth summer Research project on Artificial Intelligence. Over the past decades, Machine learning has evolved to a completely new level. Starting from a few enthusiasts exploiting the concept and experimenting to this day where it has become an integral part of the technical world with basic algorithms making every day work ten-times easier and more accurate. Recent advances in medical informatics and biomedicine facilitated the development of complex systems including decision support systems, knowledge acquisition and management, predictions with historical data basically giving us the idea of how great of an impact artificial intelligence has in the field of biology, biomedicine and medical research, which shall be the main focus of this paper. Applications of machine learning such as neural computing, fuzzy logics, genetic algorithms etc can be implemented in real world applications further helping in the area of medical research and healthcare.
